Description
The featured General Electric AKU-2A-50 EO/DO is a 1600 A frame, 600-V class, 200-kAIC rated, electrically operated, draw-out style fused air circuit breaker. The AKU-2A-50 is designed to go into GE type AKD-5 switchgear. Although the featured AKU-2A-50 is electrically operated, manually operated AKU-2A-50 breakers are available.
This unit was part of an ongoing life extension project. The customer’s breaker was fully reconditioned, tested, and retrofitted with a brand new AC Pro II digital solid-state trip device to replace the original EC series magnetically operated overcurrent trip devices.
