Group CBS Celebrates Longtime Employees at Christmas Party

With another successful year on the books and a chance to recognize employees, Group CBS and Circuit Breaker Sales (CBS) had plenty to celebrate at their 2018 Christmas party. Here’s a look at the honors bestowed upon longtime CBS employees:

Employee 6

Brad Williams was recognized for his 25 years of service with CBS and Group CBS. Brad started in the low-voltage department before moving on to manage the breaker shop and warehouse for 17 years. He played a significant role in getting CBS’s warehouse inventory-management system off the ground. Brad has been parts department manager for four years.

Bill Stephens and Latrisha Wood, pictured with Finley Ledbetter (center), received plaques for 20 years of service. Once a shop foreman, Bill became involved in transformer sales and was instrumental in the growth of Group CBS. Meanwhile, Latrisha started her career in shipping, receiving, and invoicing, and in early 2012 she moved to the parts department, where she now manages operations.

Selected by his peers, Chet Hough (left) earned the 2018 Employee of the Year award. His selection presented a tricky problem for the team: Chet, who is a draftsman at CBS, makes all the Employee of the Year plaques. So CBS’s Teresa Sprouse gave him a false winner’s name to maintain the element of surprise. Chet’s colleagues shared their praise, calling him “a great guy,” “easy to work with,” and “willing to go the extra mile to get the job done.” (Pictured right: Tim Brewer, CBS president.)

Finley and a group of children surround Carl Newberry. From running errands to acting as a handyman, Carl has served as a do-it-all employee for Group CBS for the last 30 years. He has been close with three generations of Ledbetters: Finley, his children, and his grandchildren. Pictured center and right are Madison and Noah McWhorter, Ashley Ledbetter’s children. On the left is Latrisha Wood’s daughter, Emma.

Group CBS also acknowledged accounting clerk Sandy Hess for 15 years of service and three additional employees for 10 years of service: Mike Briley, safety and facility support; Paul Grein, vice president of CBS; and Jason Trammell, technician and fabricator for CBS’s vacuum retrofit and switchgear department.
